How to Create a Treasure Hunt with CluePup
A little planning turns a few clues into an adventure. Here’s how to make a printable treasure hunt for your family.
1. Choose a theme and age group
Pick a world your child loves and enter their name or team name. You can personalize the invitation with the date, time and location.
2. Choose hiding places
For each clue, choose where the next card will be hidden. The final clue leads to the treasure. Choose places that are safe and accessible for your players.
3. Personalize the clues
Review the clues, edit the wording, change an illustration or add more cards. When you change a hiding place, check that the clue still leads to the right location, especially if you have written your own text.
4. Preview and save
Use the page thumbnails to review the invitation, clue cards, hints, parent guide and certificate. Save your draft to return to your hunt later.
5. Print, hide and play
After unlocking your printable kit, print and cut the cards. Use the parent guide to hide card 2 at the answer to card 1, card 3 at the answer to card 2, and so on. Give players card 1 to begin, and put the treasure at the final destination.
Keep hints nearby in case the explorers need a little help. Adult supervision is recommended.
