Halloween Mystery treasure hunt illustration

Find a hunt that fits.

A playful Halloween mystery

Choose Halloween Mystery for a coordinated set of themed illustrations. Friendly ghosts, pumpkins and other decorative icons give the cards a seasonal feel. You decide how to introduce the story and whether to add decorations around your own play space.

Keep the setting comfortable for your explorers

Ask what the children enjoy and avoid surprise scares. A well-lit room can be just as imaginative as a dark one. Keep masks, costumes and decorations from obstructing the route, and choose places children can reach without climbing.

Make a clear trail through familiar places

A doormat, coat hook, bookshelf and toy basket can become the stops in a Halloween story. Check that the first clue describes the place where you hid card 2, and continue that pattern to the final reward. The artwork sets the mood; the wording of the clue determines the destination.

Choose a finish that suits your group

The treasure does not need to be candy. A little craft, a sticker sheet, a handwritten message or a shared activity can work. If you choose food, check the needs of the children taking part and keep the reward with a supervising adult until the finish.

Prepare your Halloween kit

Personalize the invitation, review the clue wording and add the names you want on certificates. The editor offers a view-only draft link if another grown-up is helping you prepare. Unlock the clean PDF when you are happy with the kit, then print, cut and follow the private setup guide.

More than six cards.

An invitation to begin

Add the explorer or team name, date, time, location and RSVP details. One invitation introduces the shared adventure.

A guide for the grown-up

Keep the hiding order and answers private. Optional hints help you offer a nudge without immediately giving away the destination.

A certificate to celebrate

Use the explorer name, or add a list of names in Pages for individual certificates. The invitation name stays unchanged.

Planning questions

Does the game have to be scary?

No. Keep it playful with friendly decorations, ordinary lighting and an adult reading the opening story.

Can the final prize be something other than sweets?

Yes. Choose your own non-food reward or a shared activity. The kit does not include or require candy.

Can I reuse this page next Halloween?

Yes. This is a general Halloween guide rather than a page tied to one year. Update the date and other details in your own hunt before printing it again.
