Check the park before choosing a route
Visit the space first. Choose recognizable, reachable stops such as a bench, a picnic table or an information sign. Keep the route away from traffic, water and restricted areas. Follow local rules and ask permission where needed; a public space is not reserved just because you are using it for a game.
Keep the group with a grown-up
Explain the boundaries and move between stops together. A clue describing a sign should not require climbing on it, entering a planted bed or disturbing wildlife. Choose an accessible spot beside the object rather than attaching anything to it without permission.
Plan for missing or moved cards
People and wind can move a hidden card. Keep a spare numbered set with the host. If a card disappears, an adult can give the group the next card after they solve the current clue. Use the private guide to stay in order.
Leave the park as you found it
Count the cards before and after the game, remove any materials you placed, and keep prizes with the supervising adult until the finish. If the space is too busy, postpone the trail or use a smaller private setting instead.
